Application of GELLAN GUM in Air Freshener Production

Description of Gellan Gum (LW-G):


Gellan Gum is a high performance biopolymer made by controlled aeration fermentation. Gellan Gum LW-G  is specially formulated  for use in the manufacture of  water jellies and a use level of 0.06 to 0.40 % and air freshener gelling agent with dosage from 0.6% to 1%. It produces brittle gels but may also can be combined with other hydrocolloids to give different textures and mouth feel. With help of gellan gum, the car air freshener is heat stable, of high transparency and longer flavor enhancing period.

Procedure Instruction:


Make Gellan Gum Solution:

Stirring while adding gellan gum into deionized water (room temperature water) solution to make it homodisperse;

Heating up the solution to 95 Degrees Celcius; and keep the temp. for 15-20miniutes until it disolves totally;

At the temperature of 95 Degrees Celcius, add the prepared Calciul Chloride or Patassium CHloride Solution;

 

Prepare Solubilizer Solution:

At 65 Degrees Celcius temperature, add the solubilizer as well as other ingredients into deionized water.

 

Production of Solid Flavor Gel:

At 65 Degrees Celcius temperature, stirring while mixing the above two solutions together;

At 65 Degrees Celcius temperature, filling the mixed solution into packages;

Cooling.
